The Stranger (Qimir) is the central antagonist in Star Wars: The Acolyte, known for his enigmatic and chilling presence. Originally a Jedi Padawan trained by Master Vernestra Rwoh, Qimir grew disillusioned with the Jedi Order and was cast out—details of his fall remain shadowy. After leaving the Order, he was taken as an apprentice by Darth Plagueis, mastering the dark side and honing his abilities in secrecy, away from the watchful eye of the Jedi.
Qimir’s hallmark is his manipulation and calculated psychological warfare. He secretly trains Mae Aniseya as his acolyte, tasking her with targeting Jedi, while at the same time wearing a twisted cortosis mask and using cortosis armor and gauntlets—gear that grants him an edge against even the most skilled Jedi adversaries. His red-bladed lightsaber and combat prowess are matched by his intellect, using deception, betrayal, and emotional manipulation as weapons.
Throughout the series, Qimir orchestrates violence against the Jedi, including massacring a strike team on Khofar and eventually turning Mae’s twin sister, Osha, to the dark side. He convinces Osha to betray her allies, further shrouding his true motives and ambitions.
