Black Bolt (Blackagar Boltagon)
Black Bolt is the reigning king of the Inhumans and one of Marvel’s most powerful and stoic heroes. Born to two of Attilan’s leading geneticists, Agon and Rynda, Blackagar Boltagon was exposed to the mutagenic Terrigen Mists while still an embryo, resulting in immense and dangerous powers beyond common Inhuman abilities. His signature power is his voice; even the slightest whisper can unleash destructive sonic energy capable of leveling mountains, so he remains mostly mute to protect those around him. As a child, he nearly destroyed Attilan during a temper tantrum before being placed in a soundproof chamber and taught to control his abilities.
Upon reaching adulthood, Black Bolt assumed leadership of the Inhumans, constantly balancing the safety and secrecy of his people against external threats. He is a brilliant strategist and a symbol of regal authority and restraint. Despite his silence, Black Bolt’s leadership manifests through powerful action and telepathic communication. He has been part of key Marvel storylines, including battles against his scheming brother Maximus, conflicts with Earth’s heroes, and war with human governments after the theft of the Terrigen Mists. His control over electrons also grants him enhanced strength, durability, and energy manipulation, often enhanced by his iconic energy-harnessing suit.
Triton
Triton is a member of the Inhuman Royal Family and cousin to Black Bolt. He was transformed by the Terrigen Mists into a blue-skinned amphibious being with webbed fingers and gills, adapted for underwater survival. Triton’s transformation is less physically imposing than Black Bolt’s but grants him extraordinary aquatic abilities including superhuman swimming speed, enhanced strength, and the ability to breathe underwater. Unlike Black Bolt, Triton speaks normally and often serves as the Inhuman’s liaison to the surface world, reflecting his more approachable and diplomatic nature.
Triton’s personality is marked by loyalty and courage. He has frequently been involved in defending Attilan from outside threats and exploring alliances with other Marvel heroes like the Fantastic Four. His amphibious nature makes him invaluable during missions involving oceans or underwater environments.
