Medusa (Medusalith Amaquelin-Boltagon)
Medusa is the Queen of the Inhumans and the wife of Black Bolt, their silent king. Born into the Inhuman Royal Family of Attilan to nutritionists Quelin and Ambur, she was exposed to the mutagenic Terrigen Mists as an infant, granting her the ability to control every strand of her long red hair as if they were prehensile limbs — each one strong enough to lift heavy objects or strike with breathtaking precision.
During her youth, she often visited Black Bolt during his isolation and developed a unique bond with him, learning to interpret his body language since he could not speak without releasing catastrophic sonic energy. Their love grew into one of the Marvel Universe’s most enduring partnerships.
When Attilan’s society fractured under her brother-in-law Maximus’s schemes, Medusa was briefly exiled and suffered amnesia, joining the villainous Frightful Four before regaining her memory and returning to the Royal Family. Medusa has also allied with Earth’s heroes, notably the Fantastic Four, and even substituted for the Invisible Woman for a time.

Gorgon (Gorgon Petragon)
Gorgon is a member of the Inhuman Royal Family and a cousin to Black Bolt and Medusa. Exposed to the Terrigen Mists as a teenager, Gorgon’s transformation granted him superhuman strength and massive, cloven hooves capable of generating seismic shockwaves strong enough to level buildings or shatter stone with a single stomp.
Initially a hot-headed defender of Inhuman traditions, Gorgon served as head of Attilan’s Royal Guard and commander of military defense. His loyalty to Black Bolt is unmatched, though his temper and impulsiveness have sometimes caused tension within the Royal Family. Nonetheless, Gorgon’s brutality in combat is balanced by deep honor and devotion to his people.
Over the years, Gorgon has worked as both protector and enforcer for Attilan — battling human aggressors, aiding heroes like the Fantastic Four, and leading missions to retrieve exiled or endangered Inhumans. Despite his gruff demeanor, he is a steadfast ally and moral anchor for the more politically restrained members of the Royal Family, often mentoring younger Inhumans in courage and self-control.
Together, Medusa and Gorgon embody the duality of Inhuman royalty: intellect and might, diplomacy and ferocity. Both are pillars of Attilan’s legacy and enduring symbols of strength, loyalty, and the struggle between isolation and unity within Marvel’s cosmic mythos.
