One:12 Collective Batman: The Animated Series The Joker
The Joker from Batman: The Animated Series is depicted as Gotham’s most unpredictable and dangerous criminal mastermind—a theatrical, maniacal madman known as the “Clown Prince of Crime.” His origin, while mysterious, is rooted in a transformative accident at the Ace Chemical Factory. After a botched robbery, he fell into a vat of chemicals which bleached his skin chalk-white, dyed his hair fluorescent green, and permanently stretched his lips into a grotesque grin. The trauma from this event shattered his mental stability, propelling him into madness.
With an unknown past and no clear motive other than chaos, the Joker delights in breaking laws and moral codes, executing crimes as elaborate jokes. He’s driven by a desire to torment Batman, often orchestrating deadly games to push the Dark Knight to his limits. Key trademarks include his razor-sharp playing cards and deadly “Smilex” gas, which forces victims to wear a ghastly, Joker-like grin. His crimes range from robbery and kidnapping to outright murder, but he always frames them as dark pranks intended to upend order and sanity in Gotham.
The Joker is extremely intelligent, cunning, and utterly insane. He’s aided by his equally deranged accomplice, Harley Quinn, and relentlessly seeks to prove himself Batman’s greatest adversary. Voiced memorably by Mark Hamill, this incarnation has become one of the most iconic portrayals of the character across any medium.
