Vintage Collection The Stranger (Qimir)
The Stranger, also known as Qimir, is the principal antagonist in Star Wars: The Acolyte. Initially appearing as a seemingly unassuming arms smuggler working for the Hutt Clan, Qimir is revealed to be a powerful Sith Lord operating in the shadows during the final days of the High Republic era, long before the rise of Emperor Palpatine.
Once a Jedi Padawan trained by Master Vernestra Rwoh, Qimir became disillusioned with the rigid doctrines of the Jedi Order and was cast out under mysterious circumstances. After his fall, he became the apprentice of Darth Plagueis, mastering Sith dark side abilities and strategic manipulation. Under the alias “The Stranger” or “The Master,” he trains Mae Aniseya as his Sith acolyte, orchestrating assassination plots against the Jedi and eliminating those who oppose him with ruthless effectiveness.
Qimir is known for his specialized cortosis gauntlet and helmet, as well as his mastery of rare fighting techniques like Tràkata, allowing him to deactivate and reactivate his lightsaber blade during combat. He is a master manipulator, using psychological warfare to control and convert individuals like Mae’s twin sister Osha, whom he eventually takes as his new apprentice. His philosophy challenges the Jedi Order’s failures and embodies a new kind of Sith threat rising in the galaxy’s shadows.
Though The Acolyte series was canceled prematurely, Qimir left a lasting impact as a chilling and complex villain, poised to be one of the most memorable Sith Lords in Star Wars lore. His fate and future role in the galaxy remain subjects of great speculation and interest within the fandom.
